Robert Thompson

Two-time Grammy-nominated musician, producer and conductor, Robert Thompson has led the Detroit, Hartford, Houston, Nashville, Phoenix, Seattle, and Shreveport Symphonies, among others. He has performed and toured with artists including the Moody Blues, Yes, The Four Tops, the Temptations, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.

Thompson has also collaborated with artists such as Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Stewart Copeland and Philip Glass, among others. As a producer of film with live orchestra concerts, Thompson has produced the world premiere of The Pink Panther for MGM Studios, featuring Henry Mancini’s Oscar-nominated score, as well as Sony Pictures’ The Red Violin, featuring John Corigliano’s Oscar-winning score. Together with Schirmer Theatrical and Greenberg Artists, he is the co-producer of several symphonic pops shows including Women Rock, Revolution: The Beatles Symphonic Experience, Unforgettable: A Tribute to Nat & Natalie Cole, and The Motown Experience.

Thompson is the recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts Awards, the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of South Florida, and earned his doctoral degree from The Eastman School of Music.
