A powerhouse trumpeter, gifted with a soulful voice and a charismatic onstage swagger, BYRON STRIPLING has delighted audiences internationally. As soloist with the Boston Pops Orchestra, Stripling has performed frequently under the baton of Keith Lockhart, as well as being featured soloist on the PBS television special, “Evening at Pops,” with conductors John Williams and Mr. Lockhart. Currently, Stripling serves as artistic director and conductor of the highly acclaimed, award winning Columbus Jazz Orchestra.

Since his Carnegie Hall debut with the New York Pops, STRIPLING has emerged as one of America’s most popular symphony pops guest artists, having performed with over 100 orchestras around the world including the Boston Pops, National Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, Toronto Symphony, and Dallas Symphony, to name a few. He has been a featured soloist at the Hollywood Bowl and performs at jazz festivals throughout the world.

A Tribute to Louis Armstrong

Byron Stripling’s electrifying and heartfelt tribute to Louis Armstrong has become America’s most popular orchestral Pops program. With his engaging rapport, smooth vocals and virtuosic trumpet technique, Byron dazzles audiences across the globe. Musical hits from the Armstrong songbook include, What A Wonderful World, Mack the Knife, Ain’t Misbehavin, Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans, Hello Dolly, and Basin Street Blues.  With his signature version of "When The Saints Go Marchin' In" to close the show, Byron celebrates the spirit of the great Louis Armstrong and leaves 'em dancing in the aisles!

Ragtime, Blues and All that Jazz

In this “tour de force” concert, Byron Stripling showcases ragtime masters Scott Joplin and Jelly Roll Morton plus blues legends B.B. King and Muddy Waters. Byron’s entertaining and humorous vignettes about the music and its creators, plus a finale that closes with an unforgettable toe-tapping jam session, has made this one of his signature shows. Byron is joined by keyboardist Bobby Floyd of the Ray Charles, Dr. John and Count Basie Bands as well as drum set master, Robert Breithaupt.

Mardi Gras in New Orleans

Celebrate the spirit of Mardi Gras with a night of hot, steamy New Orleans jazz. The good times roll with music from New Orleans natives like Fats Domino, Mahalia Jackson & Louis Armstrong.
